Well news coming in today is what BLACK SHEEP director Jonathan King is working on now. The film is called UNDER THE MOUNTAIN. King told Gameplayer:
‘’I’m in pre-pre-production on a dark fantasy-horror adventure kinda thing called Under the Mountain. It’s based on a New Zealand novel from the ’70s that has had a cult following for years. We’re working with Weta again on the creatures and looking forward to making something really creepy and unique.’’
There was also a TV series based off the same novel. The plot to the television series was: The show focused on a pair of twins, Rachel and Theo Matheson. While on school summer holidays in Auckland, they were contacted by a man named Mr. Jones, who had met them briefly eight years earlier. This time, Mr. Jones revealed his true identity and mission. He was an alien, sent from another world to recruit the twins in a battle against another race of aliens. These latter creatures were a family of slimy, slug-like beasts who could take on human form. Led by the evil Mr. Wilberforce, the green monsters were now bent on destroying Earth and only the twins’ emerging psychic abilities could turn them back.
The same guy who brought us killer sheeps is going to be bringing that to the big screen? Sounds good to me. We’ll keep you updated on any UNDER THE MOUNTAIN news.
