Two hundred years and eighty seven GRUDGE films later, Takashi Shimizu, supreme overlord of both the Japanese and American THE GRUDGE franchises, will not be helming the upcoming third round of furious, deathly pale ghosts with extremely long hair tormenting young American girls in haunted Japanese houses that, despite countless deaths inside their walls, for some reason, have never been torn down. According to some scoopage by “Shock Till You Drop”, the new director is FX veteran Toby Wilkins, who directed THE GRUDGE 2 tie-in flicks TALES OF THE GRUDGE. An unnamed writer is currently changing the name of Amber Tamblyn’s character in THE GRUDGE 2 script before placing a THE GRUDGE 3 on the title page and turning it in to the studio.
