You see according to the guys over at Variety shooting has officially resumed for THE DARKEST HOUR in Moscow, Russia. Things pick up a whopping six weeks after the fires initially shut down production, with the smoke understandably making filming in the city impossible. At the time it was unknown if production would resume in Moscow but after today’s update it seems that is indeed the case. New Regency and Summit Entertainment made it a point to state this delay won’t alter the film’s US release date of August 5th. Sort of like a no harm, no foul kind of deal.
“Hour” centers on five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack.
Chris Gorak is directing the alien adventure with Timur Bekmambetov producing. THE DARKEST HOUR stars Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby (above), Max Minghella, Rachael Taylor (below), Joel Kinnaman and Tom Jacobson. Now that this thing is officially underway once again expect some more updates soon!
