Some major news for you fans of SILENT HILL, as the sequel to the “meh” first film has just now starting shooting in Toronto under the direction of Michael J. Bassett. News comes from a press release issued by the flick’s producers, Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody (the RESIDENT EVIL franchise). Flick is shooting in 3D.
Not only that, but we’ve got the casting scoop and a promo still (which you can see above, obviously). Adelaide Clemens has been announced as “Heather Mason”, the lead character in the movie, subtitled REVELATION. In addition, Kit Harington (HBO’s upcoming series “Game of Thrones”) has also joined the film, although his role is unknown.
The Australian-born Clemens made her feature film debut in WOLVERINE as “Carnival Girl”. She’s also scheduled to appear in George Miller’s MAD MAX: FURY ROAD.
In a statement, producer Samuel Hadida said: “We are all excited to have the Silent Hill team reunited in Toronto. With Michael at the helm, we will be building on the first film and taking Silent Hill into new territory with an exciting storyline and visuals that should grab both new audiences and fans of the Silent Hill franchise.”
Carmody added: “Adelaide is breaking out of the indie world with commercial features such as X-Men and the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road. She and Kit are emerging young talent and their chemistry and dynamics make them a brilliant addition to the Silent Hill team.”
The synopsis for SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D: For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
