Writer/director Camille Griffin’s “darkly comedic drama/horror” movie Silent Night will be reaching theatres and the AMC+ streaming service this Friday, December 3rd, and in anticipation of the film’s release we’ve gotten our hands on a clip from the film. You can watch this clip in the embed above, where it’s followed by the film’s trailer.
Griffin makes her feature debut with this film, which has the following synopsis:
In true British fashion, (while the rest of the world faces impending doom), a group of old friends reunite to celebrate Christmas in the comfort of an idyllic country home. Burdened with the inconvenience of mankind’s imminent destruction, they adopt a stiff upper lip, crack open another bottle of prosecco and continue with their festivities. But no amount of stoicism can replace the courage needed for their last night on earth.
Keira Knightley, who may be best known for her role in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, stars in Silent Night and is joined in the cast by Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey), Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), Annabelle Wallis (Malignant), Lily Rose-Depp (Yoga Hosers), Ṣọpé Dìrísù (Gangs of London), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place), Lucy Punch (Into the Woods), Rufus Jones (Flack), and Trudie Styler (Pose).
In the clip above, Goode and Knightley say grace before having dinner with the friends that have gathered to celebrate Christmas and prepare for the apocalypse with them.
This isn’t the first apocalyptic comedy Knightley has starred in, as she also had a lead role in 2012’s Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.
