Simon Pegg and Nick Frost producing TV series Truth Seekers

Last year, SHAUN OF THE DEAD stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost formed their own production company, called Stolen Picture. The first Stolen Picture feature is director Crispian Mills' horror comedy SLAUGHTERHOUSE RULEZ (which is about fracking unleashing a demon on a boarding school), and now that the film is in post-production Pegg and Frost are working on the first Stolen Picture television series… which is also a horror comedy project.

At first, the pair thought they would only be producing movies, but they came to realize that

In terms of where the money is being made, and creatively, making episodic television is now no less nourishing than a two-hour movie."

Backed by Sony Pictures Television, Stolen Picture is diving into TV land with a show called Truth Seekers, which is

about a three-person paranormal investigation team.

Each installment of “Truth Seekers” will focus on a paranormal incident, a setup with clear monster-of-the-week potential.

Pegg had this to say about the concept:

Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something. It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. ‘Shaun of the Dead’ was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies."

The description of Truth Seekers doesn't give much to go on at this point, it sounds like a lot of shows we've already had, but I'll give anything from Pegg and Frost a chance. Especially when they're genre projects.
