Simpson lacks Ambition

Apparently, the disaster waiting to happen, BLONDE AMBITION has been pulled from it’s original August release by Jessica Simpson’s dad (who also doubles as her manager). Shocker. IMDb lists the flick as having a release date of August 3rd this year, but it’s reported that that’s just not going to happen. Sometimes you can tell just from a trailer (which I nominated for worst of the year some time ago) that a movie is gonna be bad, but the fact that this trailer can kill most land-based mammals from twenty paces isn’t even the half of it.

The film follows a young woman (Simpson, duh) as she unwittingly becomes the pawn of two business executives in their bid to oust the head of a mega-conglomerate. Luke Wilson (who is cool) co-stars, and sorry to say it Luke, but you make some of the most terrible film choices ever. The only reason I can come up for him getting involved in this flick is that he saw a chance to take a shot at a divorced Jessica Simpson and he took it. That same rationale helps me understand why he made MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND.

Still though, I’m seriously rooting for this film to do a LEGALLY BLONDE. Come on, Luke!
