Singer going to Prison

Revenge flicks are awesome–if films like THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT and DEATH SENTANCE float your boat, then you should be interested to hear that director Brian Singer is eyeing the director’s chair for the new revenge flick THE PRISONERS, at least, according to EW.

Said to be a mix between THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and SEVEN, the new script by Aaron Guzikowsk is about a Boston dad who takes the law into his own hands when his young daughter is kidnapped.

Marky Mark Wahlberg is currently attached to star as the Boston dad in question, and could be the biggest selling point for Singer to jump on board the project, stating I’m definitely intrigued. It’s a great script. And I’d love to work with Mark.

Who wouldn’t? Anyway, there you have it. Singer isn’t signed on to do squat yet, but he’s intrigued and wants to work with Mark. Apparently the script is hot shit, and since revenge seems to be ‘in’ now more than ever, there’s no doubt this beast will have quite the commercial appeal. Plus, anying that is SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and SEVEN in one movie sounds pretty dope to me.

Stick around to see whether this becomes official or simply just another rumor in the rumor mill!

SEVEN’s Gwyneth Paltrow!
