Singleton’s Order

John Singleton, who has one of the more curious and underwhelming careers in recent Hollywood history (from BOYZ N THE HOOD to 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS?!), is switching gears again and tackling sci-fi/horror for the first time with the terribly titled EXECUTIVE ORDER: SIX, which comes from the keyboard of Philip Eisner, the writer of EVENT HORIZON and the upcoming MUTANT CHRONICLES.

According to Variety, the story concerns the residents of a small, snowbound town, who band together to fight a mysterious horror that turns out to be an alien unleashed by a plane crash.

Sounds like Stephen King territory. It will be interesting to see how Singleton handles this kind of material – maybe this will turn out to be his true calling..? (Lord knows there’s a reason we never got another SHAFT movie.)

Talkin’ about SHAFT – Vanessa Williams is still pretty hawt!
