The flick, starring Nathan Fillion and Michael Rooker, is about alien spores infecting a small town, and turning everyone into slithering, zombie-like creatures, is said to be full of slime, goo, and gore. Gunn’s even said it’ll be ‘the hardest R ever!’.
I had the pleasure of visiting the set a few months back (hold tight kiddies, you’ll be able to hear all about it soon enough), and I have to say, it looks super cool and a lot of fun. A gore lover’s dream, if you will…
This makes me wonder why they’d move the release date from a busy Halloween to a post-holiday weekend. I mean, everyone knows studios aren’t behind films released in January, so what’s the big deal? Does Universal think it’s trash? Are they nervous cause it’s Gunn’s first movie? Do they feel it’ll bomb because there’s no star power? Eh- who knows?
Maybe they want to give Dimensions’ FEAST a run for it’s money, which is also being released in January. Either way, maybe this January is being set up to be awesome, unlike last January…
