Slumber Party Massacre remake poster art unveiled!

Last year, Scream Factory put out a limited edition release of the 1982 cult classic The Slumber Party Massacre that came with an 8" NECA action figure of the film's drill-wielding slasher Russ Thorn. Later this year, we'll be getting a remake of Slumber Party Massacre, and we can only wait and see if that film's version of the Driller Killer is going to become popular enough to warrant his own action figure someday. Our first look at the remake's Driller Killer is on the sales art that our friends at Bloody Disgusting got their hands on. You can see this sales art below.

The new Slumber Party Massacre is coming to us from Shout! Studios, and they have teamed up with Raven Banner Entertainment in hopes of landing some international distribution deals at the Cannes Film Festival. That's where the sales art came from.

Directed by Danishka Esterhazy (The Banana Splits Movie) from a screenplay by Suzanne Keilly (Leprechaun Returns), this Slumber Party Massacre has the following synopsis:

A slumber party turns into a bloodbath when a power drill-wielding psychopath disrupts the fun.

Which could also function as the synopsis for the original film, so that's good.

The film stars Frances Sholto-Douglas, Jane de Wet, Alex McGregor, Nathan Castle, Masali Baduza, Schelaine Bennett, Arthur Falko, Hannah Gonera, Michael Lawrence Potter, Richard White, Rob van Vuuren, Jennifer Steyn, Richard Wright-Firth, Reem Koussa, Larissa Crafford-Lazarus, Mila Rayne, Dean Goldblum, and Reze-Tiana Wessels.

This Slumber Party Massacre was produced in partnership with Blue Ice Pictures. Bob Emmer, Garson Foos, Jordan Fields, and Brent Haynes served as executive producers.

While we wait to find out who will be releasing the film outside of North America, Shout! has the domestic distribution rights. Slumber Party Massacre will be making its premiere on Syfy later this year. The Banana Splits Movie and Leprechaun Returns were both Syfy premieres as well, so Esterhazy and Keilly know how this works.
