SNL vet to direct adaptation of comic book The Great Unknown

Jorma Taccone, member of The Lonely Island and director of MACGRUBER, has signed on to direct the film adaptation of Image Comics’ THE GREAT UNKNOWN.

The comic is described as an action-comedy that follows a slacker with delusions of grandeur who believes his so-called great ideas are popping up elsewhere. After failing to convince his friends and family that his mind is being pilfered, he goes on a quest to solve the mystery behind the idea thefts.

Sounds like a promising plot device.  The film will be written by newcomer Michael Starrbury.  The comic series was written by Duncan Rouleau, who is a part of Man of Action Studios, the creators of Ben 10 and the upcoming Ultimate Spider-man cartoon.

Taccone is responsible for having directed many of the memorable SNL Digital Shorts.  MACGRUBER is his only film directing credit to date but he also appeared as ChaKa in the Will Ferrel version of LAND OF THE LOST.
