It’s a strange thing, seeing Robert Downey Jr. as this sudden megastar, since us, the real film fans (represent!) knew and loved him long ago as a challenging actor. In fact, he’s always been a huge star in my eyes, but now he’s like, well, mega. He’ll follow up his career-changing roles in IRON MAN and TROPIC THUNDER with a role in the drama THE SOLOIST, opposite Jamie Foxx. USA Today has your first look at the film, which is based on an LA Times article about a journalist who forms a bond with a schizophrenic, homeless, violin prodigy (Foxx). The film was directed by Joe Wright (ATONEMENT).
