Well kids, start studying your “pledge lists”, brush up on your greek alphabet, and prepare your panty-raid plans… because we now have a set release date for our trip to SORORITY ROW. Summit Entertainment has selected October 2, 2009 as the unveiling date of director Stewart Hendler’s remake. Holy shit! A horror movie other than SAW releasing in the Halloween month of October?! I can’t friggin’ believe it!
But I do love it! I don’t understand why studios are afraid of releasing horror in October. The claim is they don’t want to contend with Jigsaw’s already-built-in audience. If you’ve got a quality fright flick, then put it out during the scariest season of the year. The audience will come, I promise. Hopefully QUARRANTINE sets a standard starting tomorrow.
I just told you about some positive rehearsals that ROW had just went through. I hope the pattern of positive stays with this flick throughout its course until this time next year.
