Yes, it seems we now have official confirmation of (what feels like) this year’s 257th horror remake/re-imagining. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Summit Entertainment (P2, TWILIGHT) has acquired the rights to the new flick. I can only wonder whether they’ll do SORORITY ROW justice by following in the 1983 original’s bloody, sexy, R-rated footsteps. It could happen because Summit has produced such hardcore horror fare as the RESIDENT EVIL trilogy, P2, THE JACKET, and I KNOW WHO KILLED ME.
The plot for the ’83 version went like this: A group of girls staying at a sorority house clash with the house’s owner, who wants them out. They decide to play a prank on her, but it goes wrong and she winds up dead. Panicking, the girls try to hide the body, but someone (or something) witnessed the crime and begins to stalk them. This really is one of the better 80’s horror flicks out there. I hope this remake is treated with care… sick and twisted care, that is.
