Update: Spider-Man cast share first looks at the MCU sequel and tease titles

The third standalone Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is shaping up to be something rather interesting, particularly when it comes to its cast; in addition to Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei, we've also heard that Benedict Cumberbatch will show up as Doctor Strange, Jamie Foxx as Electro, and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, but there have also been frequent rumblings that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be reprising their Spider-Man roles as well.

Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon (Update: and now Zendaya) each took to Instagram today to reveal a new image from the Spider-Man sequel as well two different titles: Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home Wrecker, and Spider-Man: Home Slice. Check them out below and ponder the possibilities.

While it's unclear exactly what Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon are playing at, folks are currently refreshing Zendaya's Instagram to see if she also drops a new image and/or title. What do the multiple titles mean? Well, your guess is as good as mine, but it could be a tease towards the film's possible multiverse plot. We'll keep you updated if anything else drops. Tom Holland is also slated to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this evening, so it's possible that the actual title might just drop during his interview.

The third standalone Spider-Man film, whatever it winds up being called, is currently slated for a December 17, 2021 release.
