Spidey gets a supervillain beatdown in latest Spider-Man game trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

One of the most hotly-anticipated games of the year is the upcoming "Spider-Man" game for the PlayStation 4, which gives you control of the Web-Head in ways you never have in previous games. Opening up the world in exciting new ways, Spidey will have to take on many of his classic villains. He even has to do it all at once, and in the recent E3 gameplay trailer, he sadly comes out on the losing side as the combined forces of Vulture, Rhino, Scorpion, Electro and Mr. Negative prove too much for him to handle.

Aside from the climatic ending, the actual gameplay footage looks pretty stupendous as well. Taking more from the "Batman: Arkham" series (more so than the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN tie-in game), Spidey is able to leap effortlessly between baddies and chain together some sick combos, then swinging off between obstacles with ease. If you’ve ever wanted to be Spider-Man, this new game gives you your best chance yet to swing on webs, flip over enemies and dish out quips like a pro. Sure, you may lose a fight to some super baddie, but at least it's better than getting your ass kicked by Thanos.

"Marvel's Spider-Man" hits shelves September 7.
