Well, another new poster for THE SPIRIT (up top) has been released to go along with the ones we’ve already shown you here, here, and here. Not too bad, I guess. It sort of reminds me of THE SHADOW. I do like the big “WARNING” at the top and the vintage, worn look of it.
I’m sorry if I’m not gushing enough about THE SPIRIT. I know it’s a very popular graphic novel. It’s just that after seeing the flick’s most recent trailer I… I hate to say it, but… it just seems kind of fruity. That just isn’t a term I feel should be associated with a hardcore action comic about a dark superhero. You’ve got The Spirit bouncing around like a rubber ball and running into all these hot yet very strange babes. There’s all this weird shiny lighting and people floating. And Samuel Mutha-F*cking Jackson with this weird eye-makeup! It’s just not what I expected.
Maybe I’m off my rocker, but you can judge for yourself by clicking on the actual trailer I’m speaking of below. THE SPIRIT is set to open on Christmas Day. It was written and directed by Frank Miller and stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Mendes, Paz Vega, Jamie King, Sarah Paulson, and Scarlett Johansson.
