Splinter Halloween

It has been f*cking ages since we last wrote to you on the highly buzzed-about flick SPLINTER getting picked up for distribution by Magnet. I wonder why the buzz went away for so long. No matter, because I just got word today of a release announcement from director Toby Wilkins. Apparently, SPLINTER will be hitting theaters on October 31st! Happy Halloween indeed! The exact theater count is not yet known, but at least we have something fairly official.

The super cool plot reads like this: It’s set in and around a quiet gas station on a lonely freeway, where a terrifying virus-like monster inhabits the bodies of its victims and drives them with a relentless lust for blood. The virus monster is said to twist the bodies of its prey into the shapes best suited to pursue its unrelenting desire to infect more victims and kill again.

What a fun, friggin’ concept! I’m really looking forward to this one. It sounds like part REEKER and part 28 DAYS LATER. It was written by Kai Barry and
Ian Shorr and stars Shea Whigham, Paulo Costanzo, Jill Wagner (below).
