Next week we’ll have an interview for ya with Frank Spotnitz in support of the upcoming DVD release for the outstanding (and thus quickly cancelled) new NIGHT STALKER series. Expect all sorts of goodies, like where the mythology of the series was going; plus a couple of answers to questions about X-FILES 2, and if we’ll ever see Frank Black back in action (any MILLENNIUM fans out there?)
In the meantime, SciFi Wire managed to cull a bit more out of the man than we did on the approved plot for Mulder and Scully’s next big screen foray:
[W]e’re not going into the mythology [in the sequel],” Spotnitz said. “One of the things that was exciting about doing it is to not make it a mythology story, and it’s like one of the stand-alone episodes. It’s a bit scary. Of course, we will catch up with the characters and what is going on in their lives, but it’s not about the alien conspiracy. It’s not about that.”
Probably best that way, if we ever get to see it at all. Click here to read the rest of the article which features discussion of the rights issues that are causing problems. You can also check in when our interview with the man posts to see his reaction to my creative idea of how to get around those issues!
