So it’s been a bumpy road for the movie about a video game about a car with guns that shoots things. Warner Bros. – now the owners of Midway – are hoping for smoother travels. They’ve hired screenwriter Chad St. John (SGT. ROCK, OUTLAND, THE DAYS BEFORE) to take on the adaptation, with Dan Lin (SHERLOCK HOLMES) and Roy Lee (THE STRANGERS) producing.
According to THR’s Heat Vision blog, the film “follows a highly trained spy whose job it is to eliminate rogue agents when they become liabilities to their governments. He travels in the G-6155 Interceptor, a sports car tricked out with an array of weapons that frequently is challenged by enemy vehicles.”
Will Dwayne Johnson be back in the driver’s seat, or are his spy-hunting days numbered? We’ll just have to wait and see.
