Stallone and Foxx daughters to star in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged

Sistine Stallone, daughter of Sylvester Stallone, and Jamie Foxx's daughter Corinne Foxx are set to star in director Johannes Roberts' sequel to his 2017 hit 47 METERS DOWN. Originally announced under the title 48 METERS DOWN and then referred to as 47 METERS DOWN: THE NEXT CHAPTER, the sequel is now being called 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED, indicating that diving cages aren't a part of the plot this time around. This one is focusing on cave diving instead.

The story, scripted by Roberts and his 47 METERS DOWN co-writer Ernest Riera, is about

four teens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

Stallone and Foxx, who will be making their film debuts, are joined in the cast by John Corbett, Nia Long, Sophie Nelisse, Brianne Tju, Davi Santos, and Kylin Rhambo.

47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED starts filming in the Dominican Republic this week and is heading toward a 3500+ screen release on June 28, 2019, courtesy of Byron Allen's ESMP.

Allen serves as executive producer on the film alongside Carolyn Folks and Jennifer Lucas. The producers are James Harris, Mark Lane, and Robert Jones of The Fyzz.

Allen had this to say about the project:

The sequel 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED is well-positioned to be a big summer event movie. The shark-filled psychological horror/thriller will once again have moviegoers overwhelmed and on the edge of their seats being terrorized by the world’s greatest predators!"

I was a fan of 47 METERS DOWN (and Roberts' THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT, which happened to have a great scene set in water), so I'm looking forward to seeing more aquatic mayhem in UNCAGED.
