Stella Maeve snags lead in Paul Solet’s Dark Summer

Back in May we shared the news that GRACE director Paul Solet had been tapped to helm the supernatural thriller DARK SUMMER and today we have our first bit of casting news as Deadline is reporting that Stella Maeve (THE RUNAWAYS) has snagged the female lead in the film.

Based on a screenplay from Mike Le and billed as a stylized modern ghost story, DARK SUMMER follows…

…the tale of a 17-year-old on house arrest for the summer. With his mother away on business, a horrifying incident occurs, followed by an even more terrifying presence in the house.

Maeve’s recent projects include the indie feature ALL TOGETHER NOW, CBS’s short-lived 2013 series "Golden Boy", and the CW pilot "Company Town".

Preferred Film & TV’s Ross Dinerstein is producing with Julianna Cadarelli co-producing. Kevin Iwashina and Jamie Carmichael are exec producing the pic which starts filming this week.
