Stepfather full plot

2009 sure is shaping up to be one hell of a horror remake year. First we get BLOODY VALENTINE, then FRIDAY THE 13TH, then SORORITY ROW, and don’t forget… STEPFATHER. Yes, the “new daddy with severe issues” flick from the 80’s is getting its own reboot come next year and, wouldn’t ya know it, the official plot synopsis had just been released. Here, take a stab at it:

Michael Harding returns home from military school to find his mother happily in love and living with her new boyfriend, David. As the two men get to know each other, Michael becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand. Is he really the man of her dreams or could David be hiding a dark side?

Well, that doesn’t really reveal too much, nor stray far from the original’s plot, but at least it’s a start. Plus, the remake seems to have scored a pretty sweet cast. Check it out:

Dylan Walsh (of TV’s NIP/TUCK) stars as the STEPFATHER, himself. Not bad casting. That dude can act. The lovely, milf-y Sela Ward plays the mother in love and Penn Badgley plays her son, Michael. Plus, you also get Adrianne Palicki, Chris Meloni, Sherry Stringfield, Paige Turco, and Ms. Mandy Lane herself, Amber Heard (below).

STEPFATHER ’09 was directed by Nelson McCormick from a script by Joe Cardone. It’s set to hit theaters on October 16, 2009. If they decide to make this PG-13, I’m going to be very angry.
