Dreamworks Animation honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg has been trumpeting 3D movies long before AVATAR made ludicrous amounts of money. On last night’s “The Colbert Report”, host Stephen Colbert grilled the guy about how the format has become the pervasive business plan in Hollywood.
And don’t think Colbert went soft just because he happened to voice a character in Dreamworks’ MONSTERS vs. ALIENS — he busts Katzenberg’s chops a bit regarding the questionable quality of some studios’ output, before getting around to introducing his own technology and a pitch for a 3D movie.
