Stephen King has faith that the Dark Tower movie is actually happening

If there's one thing I've learned being an avid follower and now writer of movie news, it's that until that damn movie is in theaters, nothing is written in stone. Take, for example, THE DARK TOWER, the movie adaptation of Stephen King's popular series.

You'd think that, after being given a pretty solid cast (Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey) and a freaking release date (January 13, 2017), DARK TOWER would be a sure thing. For all we know, it might be, but recent positive comments from Stephen King actually leave me a little worried.

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, King stated that "It looks to me like it's more likely than not it'll happen at this point." That's supposed to be good news, but obviously it means that the entire movie is still up in the air.

King also stated:

I think that it's more likely than not that Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey will be in it. But I can't say with any certainty. I know that they're trying to make deals with these actors [and] with Sony, and that's the extent of my knowledge.

You'd think there would be more going on, considering that the film is supposed to come out in les than a year. I'm sure DARK TOWER will exist as a film eventually, but it would hardly be a shock if received another release date bump or two (or three) before actually being fit for human consumption.
