Stephen King just finished writing a novel about Holly Gibney from Mr. Mercedes and The Outsider

The most recent novel from iconic author Stephen King is Gwendy’s Final Task, which he co-wrote with Richard Chizmar and you can purchase at THIS LINK. Next up is Fairy Tale, which is set to reach store shelves on September 6th. Amazon is already accepting pre-orders at THIS LINK. Now we might know what the King novel after Fairy Tale will be. While doing an interview on the podcast The Kingcast to promote the release of Gwendy’s Final Task, King revealed that he just finished writing a novel that centers on the character Holly Gibney, who King readers have previously read about in the Bill Hodges trilogy (Mr. Mercedes, Finders KeepersEnd of Watch), the novel The Outsider, and the If It Bleeds short story from the collection of the same name.

King told The Kingcast hosts Eric Vespe and Scott Wampler,

I could never let Holly Gibney go from the Mr. Mercedes books. I mean, she was supposed to be a walk-on character and she just kind of stole the book and stole my heart. So I just finished a novel that’s called Holly, and it’s all her, man.”

As soon as we hear when Holly will be reaching bookstore shelves, we’ll let you know here on Arrow in the Head.

Here’s some information on Holly Gibney, if you haven’t read the other stories she was in:

Holly suffers from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), synesthesia, sensory processing disorder, and she’s somewhere on the autism spectrum. Despite this, she’s very observant, refreshingly unfiltered and unaware of her innocence. She runs (private investigation firm) Finders Keepers as of Bill Hodges’s death.

The character was played by Justine Lupe in the Mr. Mercedes television series, and by Cynthia Erivo in the HBO adaptation of The Outsider.
