Stephen King’s 1922 Netflix film release gets a creepy, rat-infested trailer

Country living isn't for everyone. Hell, as much as I enjoy a bit of peace and quite, every now and then, I like knowing that the big city is just a twenty minute trip from my front door. In Stephen Kings' 1922, a simple yet proud rancher conspires to murder his wife for financial gain, convincing his teenage son to participate. It's a dark and twisted tale that quickly takes a turn for the supernatural, and a film that will leave musophobes scratching phantom itches for days after its over.

Directed by Zak Hilditch (THESE FINAL HOURS, TRANSMISSION), 1922 is an adaptation of the Stephen King novella that was featured in his 2010 literary collection Full Dark, No Stars. The film casts Thomas Jane as Wilfred James, the work-a-day farmer who turns on his big-city-dreaming wife into next season's fertilizer. Molly Parker steps in as Arlette James with Neal McDonough, Brian d'Arcy James, Dylan Schmid and Kaitlyn Bernard rounding out the main cast.

Written by both Hilditch and King, 1922 will make its Netflix debut just in time for Halloween on October 20th.
