The folks over at Deadline just got word that AVATAR bad guy Stephen Lang is eyeing a starring role in the sci-fi series. Now apparently Lang had been eyeing the role months ago but had to drop out due to his previous obligations to the CONAN reboot. Well it seems as though things have changed because Lang is once again at the top of the list. Mind you nothing is a done deal just yet but it’s looking pretty close. If Lang (above) does sign on he’ll be starring as Frank Taylor, the charismatic and ruthless leader of the Terra Nova settlement.
“Terra Nova” will follow a family from 100 years in the future who travel back in time 150 million years to the strange and inhospitable environs of prehistoric Earth.
Fox have already tapped Jason O’Mara to star in the series with Alex Graves set to direct the pilot episode. Plans are to start things going with “Terra Nova” next month in Australia with a preview planned for this coming May followed by the series’ premiere sometime in Fall 2011. It’s also worth noting that executive producer David Fury has left the project due to creative differences, leaving Brannon Bragaas the sci-fi drama’s sole writing executive producer.
So what do you guys think? Personally seeing Spielberg and dinosaurs in the same sentence has me completely sold. What about you guys? Hit us with your thoughts below and keep it here for more on “Terra Nova” as we hear it!
