Stevenson, Oakes, and Garrido get Cold Skin for Xavier Gens

Having recently completed production on the supernatural thriller THE CRUCIFIXION, director Xavier Gens, the French filmmaker who first caught the horror community's attention with his 2007 feature directorial debut FRONTIER(S) and later grossed us out with the "X Is for XXL" segment of THE ABCs OF DEATH, is already at work on another genre project.

Currently filming in Spain with Gens at the helm is COLD SKIN, which is described as an "elevated genre psychological thriller" that also has "action thriller" elements to it.

Based on the novel by Albert Sanchez Piñol, COLD SKIN

begins with a young man approaching a remote island on the edge of the Antarctic Circle to relieve a weather observer who has been stationed there in solitude. But all he finds is a deranged castaway who has witnessed a horror he refuses to name.

The film stars Ray Stevenson, David Oakes, and Aura Garrido.

The production will be moving to the Canary Islands later this month, and after that they'll be grabbing exterior shots in Iceland.

I'm not sure what sort of horror is at play in COLD SKIN, but I'm excited to Gens pit Stevenson against it. I haven't seen Jon Bernthal's turn as The Punisher on the Daredevil show yet, but I felt that Stevenson's take in PUNISHER: WAR ZONE was the best version of the character we've gotten in a film, so I'm sure he can handle himself against whatever Gens has in store for him.
