Stickity-stickity-stack some Pringles in this new Rick & Morty commercial!

Do you love Pringles? Do you love Rick & Morty? Then boy do I have a flavor combination for you!

Rick & Morty are one of those shows that I was extremely late to the party on. Although the program premiered on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim just over six years ago, I didn't have a chance to check it out until just recently. Currently I'm in midst of season two and absolutely loving it. I just finished up "The Ricks Must Be Crazy" and my stomach is still recovering from the pain of laughing too much. Seriously, this show displays a consistent amount of dark satire, biting humor, and hilarious social commentary – everything from divorce to the quality of modern television. In other words it's right in my wheelhouse.

For those of you not in the know, Rick & Morty is an animated television program created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. It follows the adventures of Rick Sanchez, an alcoholic mad scientist who travels across parallel worlds with his erstwhile and naive grandson Morty Smith. If this sounds like a parody of Doc and Marty from BACK TO THE FUTURE, it's because that's exactly what it is. The show originated from an animated BACK TO THE FUTURE parody short from Roiland. Even BACK TO THE FUTURE's Doc Brown himself, Christopher Lloyd, personally loves the show so much that he wants Doc and Marty to show up on the program.

Rick & Morty also hasn't been opposed to cashing in on its success in the field of merchandise either. There's everything from Pickle Rick boxer shorts to Nike sneakers. Hell there's even a Rick & Morty pinball machine if you're willing to pony up a considerable amount of cash. Well apparently this now extends to delicious potato chips as the ad for Pringles shows above.

I have to say this commercial is pure Rick & Morty gold. I particularly loved Rick saying "he knew this would happen" and the meta-commentary on how little they are being paid for the TV spot. Also how can you not love the way Morty pronounces "jalapeno"? Additionally, is it just me or did the face of android Morty look a lot like the aliens from John Carpenter's THEY LIVE? I was half expecting Keith David to show up. All joking aside, the thought of stacking different flavored Pringles on top of each other is a novel idea. I've been eating the snack for decades and never even thought to do that.

The fourth season of Rick & Morty is currently airing on the Cartoon Network.
