According to Variety, Ernest Dickerson is set to direct THE UN-DEAD for Ken Atchity’s AEI and Jan De Bont’s Blue Tulip Productions. That’s right folks, DRACULA: THE SEQUEL is going to be made! Based on the novel by Stoker descendant Dacre Stoker, the story picks up about 25 years after the original leaves off, set around the year 1931. And other than there being ties with the original (obviously, cause it’s a sequel and all), the story details are being kept under wraps, but I can only imagine what a DRACULA SEQUEL is going to be like! One thing is sure: there will be two new characters introduced in THE UN-DEAD, namely Jack the Ripper and the infamous Madame Bathory. I shite you not.
If that didn’t flip your lid, then I don’t know what will! Jack the Ripper??? Madame Bathory??? Dracula??? Sounds like some gimicky pile of poo from the outside, but as it’s from the Stoker family… well, it has to be legit! What do you think about this idea? Sequel to DRACULA a good idea, or probably the worse idea in history? And better yet… who do YOU think should play Dracula in the sequel? We shall find out shortly who the cast will be, as THE UN-DEAD is set to begin filming in Eastern Europe later this year.
