Story trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines videogame shows what happens after James Cameron’s Aliens

Sega is gearing up for the release of it’s Aliens: Colonial Marines game, a first person co-op shooter that will act as a “true” sequel to James Cameron‘s original sequel, ALIENS.  I think most of us like to pretend that the ALIEN franchise died after Cameron’s entry, so this could very well be the venue to explore what could have been.  Let’s face it, just about anything would’ve been better than ALIEN 3 or ALIEN: RESURRECTION, even if you consider them guilty pleasures.

As a fan of the FPS genre this looks like a promising game, capitalizing on the co-op play and upgrades, allowing you to customize your Colonial Marine rather than get stuck with a generic body.  I haven’t ever played a ALIEN or PREDATOR game, but this looks like the top of the heap as it stands.

Here’s the game synopsis:

Additional features include: four-player co-op functionality, a new alien type, and customizable weapons.
