Stunning new trailer for The Zero Theorem starring Christoph Waltz

I've been cautiously holding my breath when it comes to Terry Gilliam's latest effort, THE ZERO THEOREM. We know by now that if it's a Gilliam project, it has the likelihood to never see the light of day (THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE) or be a crushing disappointment (THE BROTHERS GRIMM). So color me delighted to see a fantastic new trailer for the upcoming movie that is garnering quotes like "masterpiece" and nods to his 1985 classic BRAZIL. Exhale!

Here’s the official synopsis:

An eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence – or the lack thereof -once and for all. However, it is only once he experiences the power of love and desire that he is able to understand his very reason for being.

The new trailer is amazing to look at and a total surprise. Gilliam is one talented filmmaker and he's showcasing his all with this one if you ask me. The striking visuals and powerful performance from Christoph Waltz have convinced me to see this movie at all costs.

THE ZERO THEOREM also stars Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry, Peter Stormare, Matt Damon, and Sanjeev Bhaskar. It will be available on VOD on August 19, 2014 before it hits theaters on September 19, 2014.

What did you think of the trailer? Also, what’s your favorite Gilliam film?
