Suicide Forest Village trailer unveils Takashi Shimizu’s new film

Takashi Shimizu – the director and creator of the Japanese Ju-on: The Grudge franchise – is working on a new supernatural horror film, Suicide Forest Village. It is (loosely) based on Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji, which is infamous as a popular location to commit suicides. And now you can watch the spooky trailer at the top of the article!

Here is the official synopsis:

One day a mysterious box arrived and a curse began to spread all over. The source of the box is ‘Jukai Village’. The village is hidden in Jukai Forest, a suicide spot that once you enter it, you can never come out.

Meanwhile, Suicide Forest Village is directed by Takashi Shimizu and stars Yumi Adachi, Hideko Hara, Fûju Kamio, and Haruka Kudo.
