Suki Waterhouse battles her friends in New Year, New You trailer

As reported last week, ALWAYS SHINE director Sophia Takal is at the helm of the New Year entry in Blumhouse Television and Hulu's fun (so far) anthology series Into the Dark. The series consists of 12 feature films that are released on a monthly basis, each film having something to do with a holiday that occurs during the month of its release. Into the Dark movies usually come out on the first Friday of every month, but since Takal's is set on New Year's Eve/Day it's coming out a week early – reaching the Hulu streaming service on December 28th instead of January 4th.

Written by Adam Gaines with revisions by Takal, Into the Dark's New Year movie is titled NEW YEAR, NEW YOU and tells the story of

a group of old high school friends who reunite in a house for New Year's Eve, where they’re forced to confront traumas from their past.

Suki Waterhouse, Carly Chaikin, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Melissa Bergland star. Takal says the movie is

in the vein of hysterical women horror movies, but it’s really a satirical takedown of the loathsome internet culture of today."

With the online release of NEW YEAR, NEW YOU now just ten days away, a trailer has dropped online and is embedded below. Judging by that, this is going to be another solid Into the Dark entry, as it looks to be quite interesting and entertaining.

The previous Into the Dark movies were Paul Davis's Halloween movie THE BODY, Patrick Lussier's Thanksgiving movie FLESH & BLOOD, and Nacho Vigalondo's Christmas movie POOKA!
