Supergirl & The Flash bust a groove in this new cross-over poster

In the immortal words of the late and great Robin Williams, who played Armand Goldman in the 1996 comedy THE BIRDCAGE, "You do an eclectric celebration of the dance! You do Fosse, Fosse, Fosse! You do Martha Graham, Martha Graham, Martha Graham! Or Twyla, Twyla, Twyla! Or Michael Kidd, Michael Kidd, Michael Kidd, Michael Kidd! Or Madonna, Madonna, Madonna!… but you keep it all inside." What does that have to do with the upcoming cross-over between SUPERGIRL and THE FLASH? Absolutely nothing, but sometimes I can't help but share the random thoughts that float into my head when preparing to share the day's news with you all. So please, join me in flailing your spirit fingers about, and gaze into the bold and bright presentation of this sweet, new poster for The CW's musical cross-over event starring Grant Gustin's THE FLASH and Melissa Benoist as SUPERGIRL!

Here are the official synopses for both shows:

SUPERGIRL – SEASON 2, EPISODE 16 "STAR-CROSSED" – A new villain comes to National City, putting Supergirl on high alert; at the same time, she faces an attack by the Music Meister. Meanwhile, Winn's girlfriend, Lyra, gets Winn in trouble with the law; and Maggie attempts to help Winn, but old loyalties get in the way.

THE FLASH – SEASON 3, EPISODE 17 "DUET" – Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her. However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can’t cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing.

Here's that super cool poster I'd mentioned earlier. Be sure to click on it to embiggen!

Don't fail to catch the two-part "Dynamic Duet" that finds Darren Criss' Music Meister transporting our heroes to a musical dream world, where they forced to follow his script – or die. Both muiscal episodes will feature performances by cast members Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, Jesse L. Martin, Carlos Valdes, Jeremy Jordan, Victor Garber, John Barrowman and Darren Criss.

SUPERGIRL is set to air on March 20, 2017 at 8 pm, while THE FLASH is scheduled to air the following night March 21, 2017 at 8 pm.
