Superman: Legacy: James Gunn shares a storyboard and gives an update that the suit and parts of the score are completed

James Gunn is not letting his new position at DC make him less active amongst the fans. The director would regularly interact with people on social media during his Marvel days when making the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and spoke about his behind-the-scenes involvement with the Avengers movies in which the Guardians appeared. Now that Gunn is the head of the DCU at Warner Bros and writing/directing Superman: Legacy, the filmmaker continues to update fans on the developments of his projects.

Gunn started by teasing fans with a picture of a crude storyboard drawing he made in regard to a shot that he’s planning for Superman: Legacy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in his post on Threads, Gunn says, “Spoiler??!! Well, probably not. I’m constantly drawing Superman Legacy shots and storyboards all over everything. Here’s one I just sent to my department heads to understand how tight a shot was going to be we had been discussing.” Naturally, a commenter asked what was happening in this drawing and Gunn answered, “The camera is moving back with the character. For me, the full arrows are camera movement, the thin arrows are subject movement.”

Gunn also updated fans on some of the anticipated aspects of his new reboot. People who are waiting for the look of the Superman suit and how the new score will sound will have their appetites whet with Gunn saying, “The costume is mostly done but we’re still going back and forth on some elements. A lot of the score – maybe even most of the major themes – have already been written.” However, since there hasn’t been any news of who would be composing the score for the film, a fan asked why Gunn hasn’t made the announcement yet. The director answers that he simply doesn’t know if the deal was finalized so that he could make an announcement. “I have to check. (And yes I know that sounds crazy since so much of the score has been written, but when you’re riding the waves of inspiration, what are you going to do? I wrote most of Peacemaker and all of Creature Commandos before I had a closed deal!)”
