Just as SURVIVAL was a throw-back to the scratched prints of 1970s grindhouse cinema, SURVIVAL 2 will be a throw-back to the 1980s slasher films that made a killing on VHS. Think that sounds like fun? Check out what Wood had to say:
Remember fast forwarding through the trailers so you could get right to the movie? Remember the ‘tracking’ button when you had those lines running across the movie? God, VHS was great! Even though I love DVD and the technology that came with it, I kind of miss VHS. So expect some gags that harken back to the days when you watched everything on VHS.
Very f*cking cool! Though, truth be told, I (personally) don’t miss a single thing about VHS. The video wasn’t ‘all that,’ everything came in Pan&Scan, and if you watched a flick too many times, the tape would be so warped you couldn’t even see the screen. But as a way to show hommage to the era (and the genre), I think it’s a very cool way to approach SURVIVAL 2!
