Apparently the newest name to join the growing cast is rapper-turned-actor Common (right).
I’m iffy on this. The only thing I’ve really seen from Common is SMOKIN ACES, which happens to be one of my favorite movies. At first, I wasn’t a fan of Common or his character Ivey at all, but the more I watched it, the more I thought the charcter fit and the more I thought of Common as a pretty decent actor.
So that’s where I stand. If we didn’t get b*tchslapped with that PG-13 news, I’d slap this up as a positive thing, but that rating has shot down my T4 spirits.
TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS centers on John Connor (Christian Bale), now in his 30s, who leads what is left of the human race in a battle against the machines. Common will play a freedom fighter and member of Connor’s inner circle. Sam Worthington is playing Marcus, who is set to be the new lead in the trilogy, with Anton Yelchin playing Connor’s father, Kyle Reese.
Joining those four above will most likely be Moon Bloodgood (below) and possibly Josh Brolin as the ruthless (in a PG-13 sense) killing machine. McG is directing from a script by John D. Brancato, Michael Ferris and Paul Haggis.
