Takashi Miike’s latest bit of insanity, OVER YOUR DEAD BODY, has been acquired by those beautiful bastards over at Shout Factory for distribution, reports Variety. The deal covers all digital, home entertainment, broadcast and theatrical for cross-platform releases in the U.S. and Canada.
Shout! Factory jumped on the film even before its scheduled screening today at AFM. It had previously screened at Toronto and Sitges.
Takashi Miike makes his way back to the horror genre focusing on one of Japan’s most famous ghost stories, Yotsuya Kaidan. A pair of lovers, who act in the same play, are thrown into their own hell where the play begins to unfold horrifyingly in real life.
OVER YOUR DEAD BODY will be released in 2015. Check out the trailer below.
