SciFi Wire reports today that Jeffrey Tambor, who played that asshole agent Dr. Tom Manning, has signed on to do HELLBOY 2 for Revolution Studios. You may remember that he was stuck inside a sealed mountain at the end of the first movie…. so I guess he found a way out?
I must say, Tambor does well at playing charactors you love to hate, so I’m glad they’re brining him back- and I’m curious to see
how exactly they managed to do so. Does he now have some tie with Hell? Did he make a deal with the devil to return to Earth? Is it really him, or just some imposter assassin waiting to kill Hellboy when we’d least expect it? Only time will tell…
Guillermo del Toro is back to direct, along with Ron Pearlman back in the roll he was born to play (Hellboy, of course). You can catch Tambor in his next movie (as the voice of King Neptune) in THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE opening November 19th.
