Tancharoen goes SciFi

Who’s the first person you think of that could tackle a science fiction flick for Brett Ratner and Universal? Why FAME director Kevin Tancharoen of course! Did I mention Tancharoen is a former choreographer as well? He is. Oh boy…

A sci-fi flick with Tancharoen (above right) directing and Ratner producing. There that goes. In all seriousness I’m willing to give Tancharoen a shot… he must know what he’s doing to get a random chance like this. He’s not the only reason I’m not writing this one off though… There’s not much plot but here’s what we are told via Variety: It’s described as a live-action graphic novel influenced by “BLADE RUNNER” that includes martial arts and uses production methods similar to Zack Snyder’s “300.”

The flick is called ARCANA and comes from screenwriter John Ridley based on an idea by Tancharoen and actor Harry Shum Jr.. This is all the information we have right now on ARCANA but we’ll be keeping our eyes on this potential trainwreck and will definitely update you all once we hear something new.

Not even Kherington Payne is reason enough for me to watch FAME
