Tatiana Maslany in talks to join Jake Gyllenhaal in Boston bombing drama

Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany has popped up on many Hollywood shortlists, including those for the female lead in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – ROGUE NATION, ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, and STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII. Her amazing work on Orphan Black has generated quite a lot of interest but so far the talented young actress hasn't yet landed an equivalent breakout role in the world of feature films; however, that might be about to change.

THR reports that Tatiana Maslany is currently in early talks to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in David Gordon Green's Boston Marathon bombing drama, STRONGER. The film will tell the story of Jeff Bauman, who lost both his legs during the bombing while he was waiting for his girlfriend at the finish line. Jake Gyllenhaal will play Bauman while Tatiana Maslany would play his girlfriend, Erin Hurley. John Pollono wrote the script for STRONGER, which was adapted from Jeff Bauman’s memoir of the same name.

As Maslany is still in the mix for a role in STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII, THR isn't clear on whether taking the role in STRONGER would take her out of the running for STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII as scheduling details haven't yet been revealed. THR did say that the actress had been doing chemistry reads as late as this past weekend for STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII.
