“Out with the old…”

A little snippet of news for those looking to pick up THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 2 this month: it ain’t happening.

Scared you, eh? Well, it’s true, the DVD will not be coming September 26th. Instead, the set will arrive on October 10th, most assuredly cashing in on the release of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING the week prior. Need further proof? Check out the new cover art.

Quite the departure from the original, eh? In fact, it looks to be trying to cash in on SAW III, too! Jeez, I know the film isn’t as loved as the original, but whatever happened to having it stand on its own? Bah, at least the specs haven’t changed:

• all-new 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer supervised by DP Richard Kooris
• audio commentary with director Tobe Hooper
• a second commentary with actors Bill Moseley, Caroline Williams and makeup FX artist Tom Savini
• all-new 90-min. documentary “It Runs in the Family”
• deleted scenes
• poster & still gallery
• trailer
