Do you guys remember back at the end of January, when I told you all about a new ride coming to Universal Studios Hollywood? Well of course you do. I’m talking about that big cuddly goof ‘King Kong!’
Back in January we learned that Universal Hollywood would be debuting a brand new ‘King Kong’ ride in 3D! We also learned that none other than Peter Jackson had been at the head of the team behind this attraction. Now that’s all kinds of cool. Well it seems the attraction is going to be called ‘King Kong 360 3D’ and today we’ve got a teaser trailer for the ride!
Don’t get too excited folks. The teaser doesn’t offer any glimpse of the ride. Hell it doesn’t even show Kong! But it is worth checking out if you’re a Kong fan and/or if you’re looking forward to ‘King Kong 360 3D!’ The video comes from over at Crave and can be seen below.
He’s never been this real.
Intriguing. What do you guys think? You stoked for this ride or could you care less? Here’s another look at the details:
If the new technology works as designed, park visitors will not only see Kong in three dimensions but also smell his banana breath, feel the gust of wind as he jumps over the guests and sense the ground quake when the ape engages a Tyrannosaurus rex in a life-or-death battle. The Kong attraction will be one stop on the park’s back lot studio tour ride.
During a recent preview of the technology, a dirty, battle-scarred Kong stared menacingly out from two 180-foot-long by 40-foot-tall screens that wrap around the trams that will carry visitors. In another scene, a 35-foot-tall T. rex stepped over the trams, turned to the audience and bared its massive teeth.
‘King Kong 360 3D,’ deemed ‘the largest 3-d exhibit in the world,’ is scheduled to open this Summer at Universal Studios Hollywood!
