A few weeks back the revelation that Kevin Monroe’s film adaptation of the comic book series DYLAN DOG went from it’s original title of DEAD OF NIGHT to its roots of DYLAN DOG was news that made everyone howl with joy. Not that DEAD OF NIGHT was a bad title, but why not use the same name of the comic the film’s based on? At least now it cuts down on the confusion…
Since the change, the film is hard at work trying to land distribution in both the U.S. and abroad, and thanks to Bad Taste, we have a first-look at the Italian teaser poster for DYLAN DOG, and while it’s no more than just the film’s title… it’s still pretty damn cool.
Using the same font style as the comic it’s based on, the new poster also has the smoke from a recently fired gun (assumedly) in the background, and just in case you thought this was for another issue of the comic, it’s clear about telling peeps this is DYLAN DOG: THE MOVIE. Awesome.
The film goes a little something like this: DYLAN DOG will chronicle the adventures of supernatural private eye, Dylan Dog, who seeks out the monsters of the Louisiana bayou in his signature red shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans. In the film Dylan Dog is forced back into his nightmare investigations after he is approached by a woman who claims to have seen her father brutally murdered by a mysterious creature. With his street smarts, his gun, and a set of paranormal weapons, Dylan attempts to restore order both above and below ground.
