Teasing the Dark

Just another reason to have night-vision goggles.

In a press release today, Sacramento-based Writer/Director Greg W. Stechman and Burning Grounds Independent Media announced the completion of the teaser trailer for the frightening and controversial independent thriller THREADING OVER DARK. Currently at the end of principal photography in northern California, the film’s teaser is available for viewing and download at the official site, along with two behind the scenes featurettes produced by Anthony Falcon and some wallpapers for you desktop junkies.

The film itself was inspired by a series of murders of sexual assault victims which took place in northern California during the mid 90’s. Retired Crime Scene Investigator Richard Ridenour Sr. was a consultant on the look of crime scene sequences when filming moved to Stockton, California. Stockton Police Department retiree Robert C. Granados was hired as the film’s Production Leader and Police Consultant to enhance the realism of the film.

Stechman, along with Producer Todd Gearou, are suggesting that whichever company handles the distribution of the film to do it with the dreaded NC-17 rating, due to the graphic depictions of rape, sodomy, torture, and murder. I’m guessing that eliminates Disney. Anyways, click on the picture below to head over to the official site. THREADING THE DARK is tentatively set for release in 2007.
