When season 3 concluded in 2023, many fans believed it would serve as the definitive ending for the series. Sudeikis had previously described Ted Lasso as a “three-season arc,” while Roy Kent actor and writer Brett Goldstein also said the show had always been planned as three seasons.
Apple officially announced Season 4 in March 2025, confirming that the Emmy-winning comedy would continue after years of speculation about its future. The decision isn’t surprising given the show’s popularity. According to Variety, Ted Lasso has been viewed for more than 25 billion minutes since premiering in 2020 and has earned 13 Emmy Awards from 61 nominations, including acting wins for Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, and Sam Richardson. The series also made awards history with its first season, which earned 20 Emmy nominations, the most ever for a freshman comedy series at the time before that record was recently surpassed by The Studio.
Ted Lasso season 4 premieres on Apple TV+ on August 5.
