Well, they might as well, they’ve remade everything else, so I guess remaking TEEN WOLF isn’t going to be so painful now that we all have endured so many other remakes. Not that the Michael J. Fox’s TEEN WOLF was bad or anything, but it seems to me like it’s one of those movies that only could have survived in the 80’s. I mean come on, surfing on moving vans, Ray-Ban Wayfarers, and heavy sports montages…that is the formula for an 80’s flick.
Anyways, I guess the studio feels that it’s better to switch up the genders and give the females a little hairy love, with the female lead becoming a wolf and subsequently being absolutely adored by her peers. Yeah, that’s realistic in America, a high school girl gets popular after she grows enough hair to put Robin Williams to shame.
It’s also being reported that Tom Welling is on board for the film, but as of right now no word as to who he is playing. I just have one demand if this rumor is true, they gotta have the character of “Chubby,” because that character lent itself to so many hilarious “fat kid in a sports movie” moments. You guys know who I’m talking about, he was the dude on Michael J.’s team, the bigger guy, who starts draining jump shots and making funny faces during his close-ups. Yeah, they gotta bring that character back!
